"us" Mission...
Our
Mission is to provide a source for Volunteers to exchange
information, share experiences, identify needs and sources, and
promote their activities within an InterNational Community.
Why
we're Here....
If you are
involved in Volunteer Work, we're here to serve you. We would
like to provide a Link, or list your group, or activities,
events, needs , projects and stories. We do not charge for our
services, we only ask that you be willing to share whatever
experience and knowledge that you have gained through your
efforts, so that others may be inspired through your efforts.
Who
We Are....
Our
membership includes individuals, groups or companies that have
experience or expertise in Graphic Arts, Photography, Public
Service Announcements, Radio & TV, Voice Talent, Event
Organization, Fund Raising & Publicity, or those who have
contacts with Public & Corporate Leadership and are willing
to share their resources on a Volunteer basis.. We also include
those groups that we provide services to as members we only ask
that they return the favor to others.
We
believe that everyone has some individual resource to contribute
that is unique to them, and that doing so will bring
"us" all just a little closer together by sharing waht
we have to offer.
We
hope that we can be useful to your interests and that you will
consider joining "us" with your group or as an
individual Volunteer.
About
"us"....
We
started out in 1990 as an informal group of friends who all had
offered their time, talent or expertise to various Volunteer
Groups such as the American Cancer Society, American Lung
Association, various shelters and social services agencies, Opera
Delaware, Aid to Poland Committee, Boy Scouts of America and
others.
In
an effort to identify other needs, expand our membership and more
effectively communicate our experiences and efforts, in 1992 we
started operating a (2) Node Free Public Access BBS in Wilmington
Delaware which featured many Message
Areas including
UseNET, FIDO, RIME, Pen and Brush and the Health Care Network. As
Technology changed and became more widespread, we grew to the
InterNET presence that you see now.We still maintain an Extensive
File Areas available via
FTP which is very specialized and focuses on the types of
material and programs which would be of interest to Volunteer
Work and social information.
As
our Volunteer Membership and the Client groups that we served
grew, we formed a Non-Profit Delaware Corporation in 1995 and
received IRS 501(c)3 Tax Exempt Status in 1996. This WebSite is
an effort to reach an InterNational Audience with our concept of
The "us" Project.
What
We Don't Do ....
We
do not support political or civil action causes or groups,
lobbying efforts, or groups promoting special agendas.
We
do not offer funding to our client groups, or do their work for
them.
What
We Do ....
We
work very closely with Individual Volunteers, or accept their
groups as clients and assist them in sharing information,
identifying sources of assistance, expertise or additional
Volunteers, collecting and maintaining equipment or material
donations for computers or other supplies. We help them with
communications so that they can share ideas and experience so
that they don't have to re-invent the wheel or duplicate efforts,
and can find avennues to coordinate and share their efforts or
services.
We
also provide our Members and Client Groups with a means of
distribution for promotion of events, activities and needs to the
InterNational General Public.
Think
of "us" as a collection of Individuals and Groups who
do Volunteer Work and as a warm and friendly gathering place.

We
cannot look the other way, when there is so much to de done. We
can find a way....
We must not simply turn our heads and leave the task undone, or
to someone else...
If we ignore what we can do, Then we diminish who we are,
Becoming selfish in our lives, And lonely in our hearts.
You
are a part of "us", Come ! Join the rest of
"us".
We need that piece of love that only you can give.
Come ! Join the rest of "us", To make it all of
"us",
We know that we can trust the love that gives.
The
whole is equal to its parts, But if we leave out our own part, It
lessens bit by bit.
This world would never be the same, without the part, the part
YOU bring,
You're such a VITAL part.

You
can help promote our efforts by spreading the word on
"us" to the groups and other Volunteers that you work
with. If you have a friend or a relative who is involved in
Volunteer work, you can share your equipment, time or expertise
and use it to give them access to "us" through this
WebSite, or through our BBS.
Membership
in The "us" Project is free, there are no dues We need
Writers, Graphic Artists, Photographers, Voice Talent, Media
Consultants or anyone with any experience at all in Volunteer
Work.
